Carl "Quikdraw" Tucker was born in Washington, DC. He is a talented artist who became interested in drawing when his uncle sat him down, and showed him how to draw cartoon faces when he was approximately 7 years old. Interestingly, Mr. Tucker comes from a family of talented artists who helped nurture and inspire his artistic abilities to perfection.

While Mr. Tucker was in elementary school, a classmate introduced him to an artist who later became Mr. Tucker's admired and respected mentor. This mentor taught Mr. Tucker advanced drawing techniques and helped him significantly improve his way of communicating with art. During Mr. Tucker's middle school years, teachers recognized his artistic potential and used his graphic talents for many school art projects. In fact, he received numerous artistic awards, and one teacher told him that he should develop his artistic aptitude further at the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC.

Mr. Tucker obtained a summer youth job at the Sign of the Times Cultural Art Center in Washington, DC. While working there, he received meticulous training in several art methodologies such as watercolor painting, silk screening, pastel chalk drawing, and pencil portrait drawing from professional artists. In addition, he received a second place award in a drawing and painting contest that was sponsored by the Sign of the Times Cultural Art Center.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Tucker decided to specialize in caricature and non-permanent tattoo art, and he does this type of art at parties, schools, and special events. He has even used his artistic talents at an amusement park called Six Flags America that is located in Prince George's County, Maryland. At this park, he created fantastic caricatures of park visitors from around the world. Mr. Tucker enjoys drawing cartoon and realistic renditions of people and animals the most. Currently, he works with standard pencils, color pencils, and markers. Unlike many artists today, he does not use digital imaging or projectors to assist him in creating his art. His hand-crafted artistic creations are truly an original development of his knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Mr. Tucker continues to evolve as an artist and believes that he has not reached his full potential. A lot of his time is spent practicing, experimenting, studying, and challenging himself. He has received art instructions at the Art League in the Torpedo Factory that is located in Alexandria, VA. Also, Mr. Tucker earned a diploma in architectural drawing at Maryland Drafting Institute. In addition, he is raising his artistic skills to new levels by enrolling in a visual communications Associate degree program at Gibbs College.

Mr. Tucker received an award from the mayor of Brentwood, MD in November 2004 for a drawing of the Brentwood Town Hall. This magnificent drawing is displayed in the Brentwood Town Hall as an aesthetic feature of the building.

Mr. Tucker takes great pride in his work, and he is eager to create a drawing for you. Mr. Tucker can draw many kinds of images like Super Hero characters, caricatures. Dragon Ball Z characters, cartoons, and/or Portraits! His fee is based on certain aspects of the artistic creation such as size, medium, and complexity of details.
